The children have settled in and have been having a nice mix of structured and independent learning.

This week the children in Beech Class have been enjoying investigating numbers. Year 1 has been using and applying numbers to 10 by counting objects from larger sets and looking at number bonds. They have also been relating numbers to objects and practising writing their numbers in words.   Year 2 have been grouping numbers by 10 in order to better understand place value.

In PE the children have been developing their ball skills and practised rolling and passing with Miss Bennett. The children really enjoy PE and are eager to use their new skills during independent learning time!

In English, we have been learning about Rosa Parks.  We have all learnt many facts about her and asked lots of questions in order to find out more. Year 2’s wrote some fantastic sentences about Rosa Parks; describing significant events in her life.
