Lime class have launched their new topic ‘invaders from the North’ with a question….were the Vikings invaders, raiders or settlers? we found out the definition of each word and gave our opinions, backed up by reasons. We have looked at stereotypical images of Vikings and completed a spy mission to gather intelligence about Viking longships.
Science has been all about sound, we investigated vibrating musical instruments and learnt about the inside of the human ear and how we hear.
In art we have made printing blocks and tested them out to create a repeating pattern. We also looked at lots of different types of sculptures and heard the remarkable story of Augusta Savage – please do ask us all about her.
We have continued to code in computing, using NASA space jam to create a galaxy of musical planets.
In maths we have learned how to make ‘factor bugs’ and in English we have rewritten the story of Thor and his magical hammer.
PE has been all about fitness and we have been delighted to be able to begin a series of dance lessons with our specialist dance teacher.
Well, what a start to the Spring term – watch this space to see what we get up to next!
