Singing and dancing our way to half term!

During this final week of the half term, the children have been EXCEPTIONALLY busy! They have completed their dance routine with Zoe, taken part in golden morning and even performed Dingle Dangle Scarecrow to the whole school! They were very nervous to sing in front of the big children and all the teachers but they did absolutely brilliantly and we are very proud of them.

Golden morning was a huge success for the Early Years children and everyone had a go at doing lots of different activities, from clay pumpkins to making autumnal art, cooking salads and kebabs to making dioramas!

In the classroom, we have been enjoying lots of different autumn activities for busy fingers, now that the leaves are turning and the weather is changing. They particularly enjoyed making leaf collages, having been inspired by the story Leaf Man, by Lois Elhert. We also found lots of ‘Boggle Snot’ in the forest with Connor… it looks like the colder weather has given the Boggle a bit of a cold!

One of the favourite activities this week has been playing with the new role play area outside. The children have taken it upon themselves to use chalk to create road markings, including roundabout signs and zebra crossings.

It was so lovely to see you all at parent consultations this week, celebrating all the wonderful learning that the children have been doing. We hope you all have a wonderful half term break. We can’t wait to get started with our brand new topic Food, Glorious Food! and read our new focus story I will not ever, never eat a tomato!
