In English this week, we have been celebrating Black History Month. We have started to learn about the Windrush generation and have been learning about our next significant person, Baroness Floella Benjamin. We have already learnt some amazing facts! She has been raising money for 40 years for children’s charities. She has run 10 London marathons. When she was younger, she always wanted to dance and sing on the stage, and she did! For many years, she was a children’s TV presenter. We enjoyed reading her book ‘Coming to England’. We learnt so many facts that we worked together to produce a poster.
In Maths we have been practising our number bonds to 10 and sorting them into part-whole models. The children did some super work.
In Music we continued our aquarium theme music by composing our own piece of music. We worked in groups and recorded our compositions using our own notation.
In computing, we learnt how to find the app Scratch and and practised our programming skills.
In our forest session, we enjoyed challenging ourselves in how we moved around -from low to very high!
