It has been wonderful to see the children back at school after Easter and I am particularly excited to see them all after so long. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your kind wishes and generosity – I am very touched!
The sunny days have encouraged lots of outdoor play this week! The children have been watering the plants, making observations about their environment and even giving the place a spruce up, washing the dirt off the outside of the planters and sweeping up the blossom!
The long awaited baby clinic had its grand unveiling on Tuesday! The children led the planning and design of this area and have been highly engaged with role play here this week.
We have also been experimenting with vehicles and ramps, using the planks and slides to see which surface was best to move their cars along. The children decided that the slide was slippery so the cars moved more quickly on this surface than the wooden planks. After all this investigating the children were sure to stop off at the mud kitchen to get themselves some hot chocolate!
We have also been enjoying using some rhyming games during our choosing time. Saplings are focusing on rhyming in their phonics sessions and Ash are focusing on reviewing the following previously learnt vowel digraphs: ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, oo, ar and ur
