As par usual…

LIME

It was perhaps the busiest forest that Lime ever had! Before we’d even sat on the stumps, a baby rabbit was spotted and everyone crowded around the fence to get a glimpse, then a chrysalis was found and a HUGE devil’s coach horse was found under a stump! Then (eventually) they made it to the stumps and heard about World Mini Golf Day and got to work creating their own course. It was also cheese burger day, so a shop called ‘Big Burger’ appeared and catered for the session. There was also a roleplay game where someone was the king!

WILLOW

Willow still couldn’t believe their luck that they didn’t have to wear any waterproofs and they made sure to have a moment of silence before the end of forest to celebrate the fact it might not be so warm this time next week. The mini golf course that Lime class made was built upon and several children had a go trying to get a hole in one. As always, the same crew built their den back up but this week they were joined by a lady bug. They took turns holding it and making sure it was safe for the entire session. Tree gymnastics also take place!

EYFS

It was time to try 1, 2, 3, Where are you again! They had really grasped the rules this week and found new imaginative places to hide. Some wanted to play again, so they had a couple more rounds but others wanted to go on the rope swing. They took turns well and piled up logs to make a platform to swing from. A small group were using twigs and anything they could find on the ground to make a very cool fire, while others were using a branch as a boat and sailing around the world screaming ‘full speed ahead’!

BEECH

A brilliant mini golf course was built around the shed, laying sticks carefully side by side and lots of people had a go. It started off as seeing who could do it in the fewest shots but quickly turned into a race to the finish! To celebrate cheeseburger day, a McDonald’s was founded and they served chips and milkshakes too. A house was made with everyone doing lots of jobs around the home and an incredible self standing stick den was made. They also helped collect leaves for some leaf printing for one member of the class who can’t run at the minute.

MAPLE

Maple were inspired by mini golf day and decided to build on the holes that were dotted around the forest to create their own course with as many holes as possible. They found the stick den from Beech and began to build on it and added tarp for extra waterproofing. A group made their own make up parlour and decorated faces and hands. Then when back at the stumps everyone took a moment to say thank you to the sun, as this would probably be one of the final times of the year that they wouldn’t have to wear waterproofs and wellies!
