Au Revoir and not Goodbye…

It is hard to believe that we are in our final week of the academic year. It is now week 14 of remote learning and 17 weeks since the government closed schools on the 20th March. It has been a period that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

We are delighted that we were able to have all our children back in school, even if it was only for two days a week. Our first priority has been for our children’s wellbeing and safety and I do feel that it has made such a difference to the children and staff. Someone once said that it’s lovely to see me at the gate every day, but to be honest, the honour is mine- seeing those happy, excited faces come through the gate each day reminds us why we love our jobs so much.

Goodbyes are always hard, but saying goodbye to our Year 2, Year 3 and Year 5 children today, knowing that they are going away for a well-deserved holiday/break, was so much easier than the unknown in March. Although, it was hard to say goodbye to dear Orla and her family, who are moving away soon. We want to wish them all the best and good luck in their new chapter.

Enjoy your holidays children, play lots and laugh even more, and we look forward to welcoming you all back in September.
