Little Hadham Primary School receives National Award for the eTwinning project ‘Sharing our smiles’
The UK eTwinning Conference took place in Nottingham on 27th – 29th September.The theme this year was Democratic Participation and how eTwinning supports active participation of pupils within schools.
Mrs Afenti-Sassis – MFL Coordinator at Little Hadham Primary was invited to deliver a workshop on ‘Student Digital Ambassadors: how to build eTwinning projects in a primary school setting with student participation and pupil autonomy’.
At the awards ceremony, Little Hadham Primary received four Quality Labels (4 out of 121 in UK this year) for four International projects. Among them, the project ‘SOS: Sharing our smiles’ received a National Award (1 out of 10 in UK). The SOS project was a project on happiness and wellbeing! It was about helping students find happiness and share it with others.
The British Council judges’ comments were: “This project has a catchy title reflecting a charming, thoughtful and impactful active learning experience for the high numbers of participants engaged in it. With multistage actions, carefully thought through curricular integration it delivers values, respect, relationships, self-control and self-reflection leading to self-confidence. There is exhibited very effective teacher to teacher interaction and support. Highly motivated and enthusiastic students engaged fully with this exemplary eTwinning project focused clearly on the wellbeing of all the students involved.”
