Every day is a little less ordinary in Willow Class

A calm start, to what would be an incredibly busy week, was called for on Monday. Our poses of Curly Whirly, Flamingo and Sitting Stick were the perfect way to stretch out and relax.

In Science, we continued our work about cholesterol and learning about the incredible achievements of biochemist Marie Maynard Daly. What an amazing person and such an inspiration!

Our class book Holes, by Louis Sachar, has us gripped. We are loving every chapter. The characters and parallel storyline gives us so much to discuss and debate! This week, we have begun writing newspaper reports and we just had to base our reports on a significant event from the book. It has been fun switching between a formal and informal voice in our reports as we included some direct speech.

The Junior Dragons team has been incredibly busy this week as they designed and made items to sell at the Christmas Bazaar. Such entrepreneurial spirit and real teamwork – it was a delight to watch!

The collaboration continued in gymnastics as we perfected some beautiful balances and floor sequences. From back bends to teddy bear rolls, there’s no challenge too big!

And into the forest we went! What better way to keep warm and stay cheerful than to construct a pulley system with friends and dance in the crisp autumn leaves!

So lovely to see you all at the Christmas Bazaar. Well done, everyone! A fantastic effort and, judging by the huge smiles, great fun was had by all.

Enjoy your weekend. Stay warm!
