Gaelic Football

What a great day our Year 4 and 5 children had at the Gaelic Football Tournament in Radlett.

We arrived and spilt into 3 teams and then had a briefing about how the day would run.

Each of the 3 teams were playing in a different group on different pitches. All the teams played really well despite having to adjust to pitches which were a lot larger than they had been used to playing on.

When we all met up at lunchtime none of the teams had won a match but all the children agreed that they were having a great time.

In the afternoon, matches were played for the trophies and plates. Little Hadham team 2 were playing little Hadam team 3 in one semi final with Little Hadham team 1 playing a semi final on a neighbouring pitch. Both matches were played really well with teams 1 and 2 winning their semi finals.

We had 2 teams in finals! Fortunately there was room to stand between the two so that team 3 could cheers both teams on, even making up their own chant. Team 2 played brilliantly but were defeated. Team 1 were outstanding and won their match earning them a silver plate.

All the children played their best and showed great sportsmanship and were a credit to the school making all the members of staff very proud.

A big thank you to Mr Leonard for all his hard work coaching the children.
