It came without packages, boxes, or bags…Christmas means just a little bit more!

What a super first term in Year 6 we’ve had! And our last few days before Christmas have been jam packed with fun too!

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a quiz! On Monday, we enjoyed working with in teams with children from across our Key Stage 2 classes. We tackled questions from our topics this term and also some general knowledge questions too! Congratulations to the winning teams. We all had fun sharing our knowledge.

Oh my, what talented children we have! We were entertained by magicians, singers, gymnasts, footballers, comedians and pogo stunts! A big thank you to our judges, Mr Edwards, Mrs Nicklin, Zoe and of course our own Lauren and Isla. A huge shout out to all those who took part and shared their talents – you were brave and made us all very proud. Well done!

It’s been a few years since we were able to gather together as a whole school, but on Tuesday we were able to enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch in the hall. It felt very special being together after the last few years. We were joined by our lovely Governors and staff who shared our jokes and joined in with the pulling of crackers and wearing of party hats! Thank you to our kitchen staff for a wonderful lunch.

Despite our very full tummies, we were all in good voice as we shared our Christmas songs with the whole school. From our Early Years children to Year 6, we loved listening to such beautiful singing and the wonderful selection of songs.

We have been lucky this week to meet up (albeit online) with our partner schools across the miles. We shared Christmas traditions from each of the countries and it was interesting to learn about the different customs and foods shared at this special time of the year. We were also lucky enough to hear our partner countries sing Christmas songs in their own language – the Italian version of Jingle Bells certainly had us tapping our feet!

Congratulations to the winners of the TTRockstars battle! Willow Class were the overall winners – woohoo! A huge well done to Jasmine, Rosie and Zara who were the overall winners in Willow Class. We think you rock!

A Christmas party was the perfect end to a great term. We played party games and giggled and laughed until our sides hurt!

They say all good things must come to an end. Thank goodness we have two more terms left in Year 6! We are having too much fun to stop yet!

We wish you all a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and send you very best wishes for a happy and healthy 2023! See you back in school on Friday 6th January 2023.
