Tasty Rations and Perfect Periscopes!

This week, we have been learning about rationing during WWII. We have designed our own propaganda posters to encourage the country to ‘Dig for Victory’. We researched recipes from this era and enjoyed baking some WWII carrot cakes. Whilst we were not too impressed with the simple ingredients list, we were pleasantly  surprised by the tasty end result!

In Science this week, we made our own periscopes! The word periscope derives from two Greek words. “Peri” means “around,” and “scopus” means “to look.” We were able to use our periscopes to see above our tables and around the bookcase. We felt a bit like spies during the war keeping a secret eye on our enemy.
