To celebrate National Poetry Day, we held our own Poetry Slam! We loved sharing some of our favourite poems and tongue twisters. We even enjoyed a French tongue twister – merci, Jessica!
There were giggles a-plenty as we listened to the well-known poem ‘Chocolate Cake’ by Michael Rosen. If you would like to listen, use this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY7AyGRct-E
What super mathematicians we have been this week! We have been multiplying numbers by 2-digits. Then we became the teacher by marking and correcting calculations completed by a mystery pupil.
Under pressure? Not us! In Science, we investigated blood flow and found out what happens when arteries are narrowed by plaque. So stay active and eat well – keep your blood flowing to stay healthy!
In Art, we learnt how to use primary colours to make many different shades of green. We sketched enlarged holly leaves and winter berries to create a Christmas card design. We love how the complimentary colours, red and green, create such a striking contrast.
‘So – Keep a picture in your pocket
And a poem in your head
And you’ll never feel lonely
At night when you’re in bed.’
Have a super weekend, Year 6.
