For our final week of Remote Learning, we began our study of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’.
We have loved and been stirred by Shakespeare’s writing and the clever tricks he used. We analysed the Prologue in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and learnt how Shakespeare used this 14 line Sonnet and the rhythms of its syllables to feel like a heart beating – clever! We wrote our own ‘movie-style’ trailers for a modern day version of the play and we designed and made our own masks ready to attend the Capulet ball.
We celebrated World Book Day with a live-streamed performance of Romeo and Juliet, performed by The Globe Players. We thought they did a fantastic job and we thoroughly enjoyed the play. It really helped us to understand the Shakespearean language better.
Looking forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday! Have a relaxing weekend.
