When it rains, it pours…

LIME

The rain was lashing down, so the waterproofs went on and the hoods were well and truly up! That didn’t slow down Lime much as a group wanted to swap out the stick on the rope swing. They managed to bash it out after a lot of tug-of-war and then set to work stuffing in their replacement log. After 20 minutes of trying, a huge cheer went up as about 25% of the stick was poking through…which was enough for them as they didn’t bother trying anymore! The king from last week was back and a mud pie shop was formed.

WILLOW

Willow immediately began to undo all of Lime class’ hard work! They went straight for the rope swing and tried to bash the stick out and replaced it with another one. They then (sort of) carefully threw the swing around the branch once, so that it turned into a trapeze, which they gleefully swung and spun from. The den building group were back once more, clearing a space on the floor and putting some tarp up. They then sent some people out on a mission to collect the sweet chestnuts which are beginning to come through.

BEECH

Rain didn’t stop play for Beech class either! They saw how muddy the digging zone was and decided that it was a health hazard. They worked tirelessly building a fence around the perimeter and when they were satisfied, they began throwing logs into the puddle. Huge cheers went up with every splash and there was a lot of giggling! A McDonald’s was created selling chips from a little den and the swing turned into a sort of see-saw/swing which ended up with lots of people sliding off one end with a squelch…followed by more giggles!

MAPLE

Maple quickly overcame their sadness that they couldn’t dig and rather enjoyed the idea of the new ‘splash zone’ and began lugging logs into the puddle formally known as the digging zone. After a while, they’d filled it too much, so the splashes were a bit underwhelming, someone had to break through the fence and pass everything back over, so the fun could begin again! It was Alpaca Day this week, so a group became the Alpaca Army and began to worship alpaca’s (like you do…). Some excellent bakery’s opened too!
