LIME
Lime class were very excited about bonfire night and after briefly discussing why we celebrate it each year, they decided to make a small bonfire. To begin with several groups worked separately but it wasn’t long before they banded together and merged to make the hugest stick pile Little Hadham has ever seen! They dragged sticks in groups and the pile grew until they couldn’t find any thing else to add. A few children decided to sit in the pile which was surprisingly relaxing! Elsewhere a group made snacks for dogs!
WILLOW
Traitors was the main thing on Willow Class’ mind! A huge group formed the round table and three evil traitors were chosen. They wandered around the forest trying to see who acted suspiciously before coming back to the round table to share their thoughts with the group. It didn’t take long before faithfuls were banished but in the end they managed to get 2 of the 3 before the end of the session. Claudia would have been proud! There wasn’t too much else going on but a fantastic drum kit was made and the swing was popular as always.
EYFS
Fireworks night was a hot topic of discussion and the children enjoyed finding all the different coloured leaves and turning them into sparklers on sticks! 2 pallets were placed side by side and they took turns trying to jump from one side to the other without falling into the lava. As they got more adventurous, the pallets were moved further apart and a few of them ended up on the floor. By the end of the session a huge crew were roaming around the forest playing lots of games of hide and seek and it was hard to keep track of who was where!
BEECH
The huge log pile behind the shed that Lime class built on Wednesday was looked at with awe by Beech! They immediately tried to; climb it, add to it and generally worship it as the next wonder of the world for most of the session. One crew decided to host their own gunpowder plot and spent the time dashing around using leaves as explosives! Connor was buried in leaves (which were the seasoning) as he was to be cooked in the hammock and eaten by the Queen! A game of Star Wars was also taking place with the Death Star being a tree!
MAPLE
Of course the rain began drizzling down for Maple class and they felt very hard done by having to put waterproofs on! But that didn’t stop them getting stuck in to the big log pile. One group were dead set on destroying it log by log and another group wanted to add to it, so by the end of forest it was probably just as big as it was at the start! Elsewhere the rope swing was manned by some very professional rope pushers who turned it more into a theme-park ride. Some very cool leaf sparklers were made too.
