LIME
It was a fantastic morning to be back in the forest for Lime Class. The Bluebells and Snowdrops had grown beautifully over the Easter break and the children were very impressed that they’d managed to help them survive. As is was Golfer Day this week, a group began making a mini golf course which was very fun to play. A team were doing some sort of gladiator challenge, with tricks and then seeing how many pull-ups they could do. McDonald’s Day is this week too, so a team made a great restaurant with nuggets and McFlurry’s!
WILLOW
A whole host of characters were wandering around the forest with hoods up and ponytail fringes. They had very deep gruff voices and ever-increasingly strange names! They seemed to be having a lot of fun but it was very confusing. A group were tying string to sticks and practiced waving them around in a safe space, while others chose the more leisurely job of relaxing in the hammock. One team were using the barrels in the loose parts zone, with one person turning into a snail and staying inside for most of the session!
EYFS
The little ones were fascinated with the bluebells and snowdrops and it seemed like they felt a real sense of pride in their part helping them grow! Some great restaurants popped up making; noodles, coffee, burgers (in a super McDonalds drive through) and the chef’s imaginations were working overtime as the water-butt was empty! A group of children had sticks in hand and were marching around the forest going on a hike. They went up mountains and deserts on a very enjoyable ramble! A secret agent also came along for the walk and kept everyone safe.
BEECH
In class, Beech had been reading a Winnie the Witch book and decided that they should bring the party to the forest! They had spent a long time preparing the food at the beginning of the session with chicken nuggets being fried, sandwiches and lots of chocolate. The speaker was used and children danced and mostly made requests for KPop Demon Hunter songs. The other main attraction of the session were 2 snails! Children held them on their hands and named them Bubbles and Pippin. They had a fantastic house made for them.
MAPLE
Maple class were excited to see the Bluebells and Snowdrops but were more preoccupied with the stinging nettles that had popped up. A patrol team took sticks and went at them and surprisingly enough there were very few accidental stings along the way! The yellow swing was back in action too and queues of people waited to get flung around. A terrific golf course was set up and it was VERY difficult but lots of fun and finally, the Chicken Nugget band returned to perform an incredible rendition of their world famous Chicken Nugget Song…
