LIME
Everywhere you turned, Lime were busy in action mode! The trench in the digging zone was attacked once more and they discovered that it was difficult to get the water flowing today, as they’d dug the hole too deeply. A brand new band called ‘Lazy but Crazy’ were writing and performing their own song which might have been called ‘Nightmare’. Some pranks were taking place, where someone was hiding in the barrel and trying to call people over to make them jump! There were also a couple of great bug hotels that started to crop up.
WILLOW
The knives were out again in full force this week and the children were very pleased to know that they had been sharpened and were working much more efficiently now. Shavings cascaded around the fire circle and everyone remembered how to sit safely. Elsewhere, some incredible climbing was going on with peopleĀ searching the forest for brand new places and heights to reach. A big game of ‘Last One Laughing’ was taking place and there was a lot of giggling! Some great concoctions were being made in the digging zone too.
EYFS
The Ash and Saplings children were gripped with circus fever, as they watched a magic show and some scarf juggling! They gave the juggling their best shot but the wind made it quite difficult. Lots of them could swap the scarves over from one hand to the other, while others went on a tightrope log adventure. Elsewhere a giant beetle was found and kept in a tray, they made sure to find only the best bark for it to climb over. A couple of secret bases were also created and some secret spy missions were taking place.
BEECH
After Beech class watched the circus/magic show, lots of them were inspired to put on their own shows. They all found stick magic wands and got working on their routines, which included… the stick up a sleeve, the rock from a bucket, juggling, hoop and stick and the disappearing stick. Audiences were left impressed by the skills and word spread and the shows happened multiple times throughout the session. They also found the huge beetle and decided it was called Bob. After a brief scare when Bob was dropped, he was living a very luxurious life in his tray.
MAPLE
The sun was shining as Maple class flooded out into the forest and made the most of the digging zone by making chocolate cakes with a pine cone topper. (the camera wasn’t working, or you’d be able to see the end result!) The knives were out once more and this week the children had more time to perfect their techniques and made some great progress with their sticks. There were some acrobats swinging around and they also had a go at the juggling. Then some children started practicing their drama show, which was great fun!
