Nice to meet zoo…

LIME

It was getting slightly squishy in the forest this morning but luckily the rain held off for Lime class. One group were hellbent on making sure the digging zone was very squishy, as they poured lots more water in and got digging. They made a terrific dent in the ground! Several bug zoos were celebrating ‘Zoo Day’ and there were lots of wiggly exhibits to look at. Another group made a very cool shop selling some delicious goodies, while a very cool bow and arrow was made and it even sort of fired. The tree climbers also got a very good view of the book bus.

WILLOW

It was week 2 of the forest Olympics and 2 more very energetic events were keeping all teams focused this week. Ironically, the winners of the first hoop related game was ‘Slay gonna lose’. Even more ironically, the team in last place were… ‘The Winners’! There was a lot of posturing and shouting before the final event of the day and luckily ‘The Winners’ won that round along with ‘The Space Raiders’. They were having so much fun they almost didn’t mind wearing waterproofs or notice the rain!

EYFS

The main attraction of the forest was our new neighbour. The big red bus parked next to it! The early years went for one walk around the bus, so that the curiosity didn’t get the better of them and they had a look during forest. They really liked looking at the different buttons and can’t wait for it to be full of books. The main attraction this morning was the digging zone! They poured one too many buckets of water into it and it was VERY mucky. There was also a game of ghosts and a very brown looking soup, with flowers in it.

BEECH

Beech class were celebrating Zoo Day too and some wonderful exhibits were installed around the forest. There were…monkeys, red pandas, rhinos, butterflies and elephants. They all had different names including one elephant called Vanessa and one called Cinda. They also enjoyed the squishy digging zone and made great headway trying to get rid of some brambles. The secret base returned from last week and they made a very mucky looking substance. There was also a cafĂ© but you couldn’t order a hot chocolate because it was the morning menu only!

MAPLE

Maple were pleased to only have to wear wellies and they set about having some serious good vibes throughout the session. One group were committed to digging to Australia, some were stinging nettle destroyers, others made bows, a loose parts den was made and an acrobatics competition. There was also a joke about the book bus having a robot librarian, that turned into a robot naming competition. In the end the name was an amalgamation of lots of entries. Dorris P Whibble, the genius book worm aka Bobalina…catchy!
