LIME
Lime class were thrilled to discover a whole bunch of new conkers were spread around the forest and teams began collecting them up and using them for various purposes. One team washed and dried the conkers before putting them on trays, so that they’d cook in the sun. It was also Mini Golf Day this week, so several courses popped up and conkers were used as golf balls and knocked around the little courses.
WILLOW
The conker influx was great news for Willow class too and they made sure to add to their collections. One group was monopolising the supply and overcharging the very angry customers! Another collector crew were making a conker farm and placing the conkers on some mud to ‘rest’. A really complex Mini Golf course was created and they particularly enjoyed the competitive element and took turns trying to better each others score.
EYFS
On the way into the Forest a Squirrel caught one of the children’s eyes. Everyone watched in awe as it quickly scurried up the tree trunk, stopped to look at everyone and then hopped onto another tree and on with its day. Then the forest was full of conkers! The children thought it was no coincidence and were so pleased that the squirrel would be so kind to them. They made collections and piles and generally had the most fun!
BEECH
The conkers were the main topic of discussion for the Beech class foresteers too. 2 groups started collecting so they could make Conker Soup and then were so pleased to discover that they had the same plan, that they merged together to create one massive soup! There was also a vet surgery based in a zoo, looking after a monkey and an armadillo. There was lots of great turn taking in the tree and the hammock too.
MAPLE
It was a great day to be Maple class as they began floating on air as soon as they heard they didn’t even need to wear wellies today! They started where they left off last week by making a huge doughnut shop and taking people’s orders. This week they added chicken nuggets to their menu, which were a huge hit with the customers. To celebrate Mini Golf Day, several incredible courses popped up and players were practicing their putting all afternoon.
