Arrrrr!

LIME

The sun was shining on Lime class this morning and they were very busy as always! Last week a group worked tirelessly to build a water trail from one hole to another and they just fell short…but not this week! They were over the moon and found new ways to direct the water. Bugs were also on the brain this week, as a couple of bug hotels were made and a HUGE spider was found. They were positive that it was a Huntsman spider and they treated it very well! A cake shop was made but they kept tricking people and it turned out all the ingredients were spicy…

WILLOW

For the last few weeks the Willow children had been hoping the weather would be nice enough to get the whittling knives out and today was day. Almost half the class had a go and they thoroughly enjoyed making huge piles of shavings and experimenting with which sticks work best. Elsewhere, the trees were a very popular hang spot, while the loose parts zone was filled with a mystical new land called Unicorn Kingdom. There was a lot of fake drama that went with the kingdom and it was a little bit like a bad reality show at points!

EYFS

Pirates! A mischievous pirate called Captain Beardyman had slipped into the forest and stolen the key to the shed! It was up to the little ones to complete a series of challenges in order to find out where the keys were hidden. They had to do their best pirate impression, answer some riddles and sing a great pirate song with the guitar. They were over the moon when the keys were found. Lots of them took turns playing the guitar, while others were exploring the very wet digging zone. The bluebells were a hot topic of discussion too!

BEECH

The cheeky pirates were back again and the challenges were absolutely no trouble for Beech class. They really enjoyed coming up with rhymes to help complete the song. Once the shed was open, they were excited to get the hammock out and have some fun. Lots of the class carried on being pirates but there was also a group of ninjas, who were hiding away in a corner of the forest practicing their skills and planning missions. Some cooking was done too with a pie shop opening up, which sold pies of many different flavours.

MAPLE

Maple were incredible creative today and the best moment was when a brand new burger shop opened for business. They announced that they were open and virtually the whole class flooded towards their pots and pans and began ordering. The kitchen staff felt very overwhelmed but managed to get through all the order eventually. The loose parts crew were back building another den and giggling from in barrels and tarps. While a group of tribes people were sharpening sticks and tying string together for various adventures!
