In PSED, we have been thinking about our emotions and how we can recognise and express how we are feeling. We enjoyed listening to the song Scribble Spot on the board, and talked about times when we have experienced different emotions, including sadness, anger and happiness. We also explored what it can feel like when our emotions are all muddled up. During choosing time, the children enjoyed representing their emotions in different ways, creating their own colourful scribble spots and using playdough to make faces showing different emotions.
The children in Ash Class have been working so hard with their phonics and are recognising and learning their letters and sounds. It has been wonderful to see how enthusiastically they join in and how well they are beginning to recall the sounds we have been learning. Today, we enjoyed a fun sorting game where we explored the difference between letters, numbers and words. The children worked together to identify each one and sort them into the correct groups. This was a great opportunity to develop their understanding of print through a playful team game.
What a wonderful time we have had at Forest School in the sunshine! ☀️ The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the outdoors and making the most of the beautiful weather.
We spent time collecting conkers, noticing the different colours, shapes and sizes as we explored.
The children also had lots of fun climbing trees, developing their balance, coordination and confidence as they challenged themselves and supported one another.
It was lovely to see the children enjoying the freedom of the outdoors, taking risks, exploring nature and building their independence through play. We love to see their enthusiasm and adventurous spirits coming out in the great outdoors!
