I’m Melting…what a world!

LIME

Mud was the main thing on Lime class minds this morning! Some were making fudge and chocolate mousse in a very gloopy container, while others found their mixture from last week and decided to make their own cake shop! The decorated the cakes with petals and sticks and sold them to customers for leaves. A group were also making the best mud balls but were enjoying getting their hands mucky more than anything! Another group were celebrating ‘Fishing Day’ by casting rope out and seeing if any logs could be tied to them!

EYFS

The Early Years and Saplings were given a very important job this morning…don’t melt! They played a calm game of 1, 2, 3, Where are You? and they were only allowed to hide in the shade. They succeeded and then continued to be shade followers for the rest of the session. Then once in the forest, the mostly enjoyed a slower pace than usual, some made noodles in a pot from mud and leaves, while others found shade and were hanging out in a very cool den. Another group made a pirate plane, from the barrels which was lots of fun too.

BEECH

Beech class were very relieved when they made it outside and saw that the majority of the forest was covered in shade. They really loved climbing in the trees today and a core group were scrambling around and shared it very sensibly. Both rope swings were in full use too, with some whipping around the tree and falling to the floor giggling! One group went bug hunting until one VERY LARGE beetle was found crawling on someone’s clothes and they called it a day! For some it was too hot to do anything and they just took turns lazing around in the hammock.

MAPLE

By the afternoon Maple class were very ready for some shade and did a great job of doing their foresty things away from the sun. There was an awful lot of tree climbing and some were mining for coal in the digging zone too. There was a very energetic Pokemon game happening too with some children being attacked by Venusaur and were lodged deep in the vines of a tree. Despite the dry weather, some found a very mucky bucket and began sloshing around, they made huge mud balls, threw them back in the bucket and then started the whole process again.
