too hot for a title this week.

LIME

Temperatures soared, so the safest and coolest place to be was the forest! Everyone brought their water bottles out with them and were told to play the shadow game (AKA stay in the shade). Some of the children decided they would find some mini beasts to show Ash and Saplings, as they hadn’t been able to go on their school trip. A sad looking bee was found and fed some sugar water and left by a bush, to regain its strength. From afar, it looked like some children were relaxing on a log but it turned out they were actually riding a dragon called Pickle.

WILLOW

Lots of the children in Willow class had left early because of the temperature but that didn’t stop those that remained making the most of the extra space! A restaurant called the Hungry Hippo opened up and mostly sold chips. Some shield bugs were found and after a brief google it turned out that they were also called Stink Bugs, so the children decided against having a closer inspection! The children also had a little look at the bus and enjoyed waving from the top deck to those in the tree. Indiana Jones with his whip also made an appearance!

EYFS

It was already about eighty-four thousand degrees when Early Years made their way into the forest so they had no choice but to go slow and play Shadowland! They were really enjoying the extra breeze given while swinging back and fourth on the rope swings and were queuing very patiently until it was their go. Then before the end of the session, a very warm disco took place with all their favourite songs. Requests were taken by the DJ and some very slow dance moves were made.

BEECH

The disco was a big success for Beech class too. They asked for a number of songs and while they didn’t do much dancing, some of them enjoyed just chilling and listening, having a sing song. One song was enjoyed so much that it was played 3 times! One group made a shaded den using a pallet and some logs and enjoyed the peace. A team were over the moon that the digging zone was in shade and got very busy, trying to dig to various people’s houses. There were a lot of Shield beetles too and the enjoyed collecting them together and imagining they were cousins!
