Our last week was full of fun and educational events and activities: our vibrant sports day, an amazing theatrical play with beautiful morals, a party full of games and excitement. We also revised, revised, revised as practice makes perfect! We used iPads in maths to answer to various reasoning questions, we created word searches to review vocabulary, we read different texts and answered to questions with reference to the text.
In our last PSHE lesson, we used a range of words and phrases to describe the intensity of different feelings, distinguished between good and not so good feelings, using appropriate vocabulary to describe these and explained strategies we can use to build resilience. Children created word searches using different feeling words. They then analysed a motivational poem about perseverance, winning and the importance of relationships, called ‘The race’. Our lesson ended with a Japanese proverb ‘Fall down seven times, get up eight.’Â What we need to remember is that sometimes it can feel quite difficult to manage feelings that are more intense. At these times, it might help to share our situation with a trusted adult or a friend.
We would like to end our last post of this wonderful academic year with a big ‘Thank you’! Thank you for your kind words and beautiful presents and most importantly, thank you for supporting us in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for your children. It has been a great year!
