1, 2, 3 Where are You?

LIME

It was another wonderful morning without wearing waterproofs for Lime Class, so they skipped into the forest and got busy very quickly! There haven’t been any new donations of conkers, so a group had to work very hard to fill up their bucket, making sure to only collect conkers still in the shells and not any that had been peeled. The peeled conkers were being used by the Squirrel Cafe (it’s Squirrel appreciation month btw) and the new rope swing was very popular once more, along with the hammock, digging zone and tree.

WILLOW

Willow just can’t get enough of the swing! There are loads of them who spend the entire session queuing and swinging and then some more who rotated in their roles as ‘pushers’.  Elsewhere, a fantastic stick den was made with some excellent balancing as well as a brand new swing. A group were perfecting their Saja Boys dance for most of the session and finally, someone walked around with a beautiful leaf hat the entire time and no one could beleaf how impressive it was… For some reason they also conga’d in and out of the forest!

EYFS

It was time. The stage was set, the rain was falling and the excitement was high… Early Years were being introduced to their favourite game… ‘1, 2, 3 Where are You?’! They listened very carefully to the rules and the Ash children were ready to be good role models and show them how it worked. They scuttled into the forest and found the best hiding places they could and the game had begun. They loved it so much that they played it THREE times! Once the game was done, they set about adding to the rain and making their own flood in the forest. Very messy!

BEECH

Beech class are always hustling and bustling around the forest but this morning felt even busier than usual. They couldn’t climb the trees, due to the bad weather but that only sparked their imaginations more than ever. An incredible base was made, a show was performed involving lots of balancing and some fabulous posing, the rope swing was very popular, the conkers were tracked down and cracked open too. Everyone also became very wary that at any point a walnut or sweet chestnut could fall from the sky and bonk you on the head!

MAPLE

it was the saddest day in the history of the world for Maple, as they were cruelly forced to wear their waterproofs and wellies, even though ‘it’s only a little bit of rain’… It almost looked as though they’d never get in the forest but they soon got busy. Most of them were excited about October being Pizza Month and made doughballs and all different kinds of pizza. As it was also Pet Trick Day, there was a show being rehearsed with children being various pets. Unfortunately, rehearsals ran long and there wasn’t enough time to watch it this week!
