LIME
The main excitement for Lime class was that the trees were climbable for the first time in what felt like 4 years. They climbed and climbed all session long and when they weren’t climbing, they were in the queue waiting for their turn. A dead bee was found and after an inspection of its stinger, they decided it should be buried and made a well-decorated grave. A very energetic Winter Olympics team vied for gold in a number of events and used stick to ski around the forest and wobbled from side to side on the bench to win gold for GB in the bobsleigh!
WILLOW
It was perhaps the biggest day of the year so far for Willow class. The sun had shone throughout the morning, so by the afternoon…THEY DIDN’T HAVE TO WEAR WATERPROOFS! You probably heard the cheers from where you were and it definitely registered at least a 1.2 on the Richter Scale. In the forest the trees were climbed with excitement, another bobsled team made use of a log (and sung the song from Cool Runnings) and a game of catch took place. You may have also heard some singing, which was the cast of Annie practicing various scenes!
EYFS
On the way into school most of the Ash and Saplings discovered the newest feature in the forest which was the incredible Ninja lazers! They were excited to unleash their inner stealth warrior and spoke lots about PJ masks and Ninja turtles. In the forest, they played a game of secret agents and showed off their best poses before hiding in a corner. If that corner was picked you had to do a challenge! They then queued really nicely and tried to weave their way through the tricky course. They were also so shocked to see that the stream had no water in it.
BEECH
Some more Ninja’s were unleashed this morning, they queued to have a go with the lazers and lots of them quickly realised that being a ninja wasn’t so easy! Some picked up their ninja sticks and used them to lift the wires out of the way, while others went for a more ‘bull in a china shop’ sort of technique… Elsewhere, they were so pleased that they tree was climbable again and there was a constant queue by the tree. The worm collectors were also out in full force and by the end of the session they had a blue bucket crawling with some new wiggly friends.
MAPLE
Maple were very impressed with the lazers and they had to tread very carefully. Some of them realised they were a little bit too big now but that didn’t stop them playing some other ninja games, mostly with sticks. The lazer beams were much more droopy when they were at the start of the session and they were asking for some slightly easier course next time! They were also over the moon that they were able to climb the trees again and a big group were playing limbo for a lot of the session too but that pesky limbo rope just kept moving!
