LIME
It was time for the new Forest loose parts to be unleashed for Lime class and they were very excited to see what was on offer! The first thing that happened was chairs on a log immediately became an aeroplane, before another plane appeared and was taking people to Malibu! Some chairs were used as the hottest fashion accessory by being worn on heads. A bucket of worms was collected and proudly paraded around the forest. One group were trying to find woodlouse and another were finding the perfect wood to feed to the woodlouse.
WILLOW
Willow also enjoyed the loose parts and were busy connecting as many things together as possible. They made a car using the chairs and had a cool steering wheel. Someone began wearing a hoover attachment and immediately became one of the Ghostbusters. One group made a worm feeder, which was a pipe coming out of a hole in the ground that they ‘fed’ mud into. Elsewhere, it was napping day this week (according to nationaltoday.com), so various ‘nap spots’ were created and one judge had to rate them on a scale of ‘eyes wide open’ to ‘zzzzzzzz’.
EYFS
The morning was full of excitement, as the children had just got back from the Mother’s Day sale and were very happy with their shopping! They were also over the moon to see that the stream was in full flow again after last nights rain and some children enjoy the peace of listening to it babbling by. The hammock is also always a big hit and they worked really well to queue nicely, without too much fuss! A fantastic worm hunt was in full flow too, with a bucket having a whole colony of wiggling creatures in by the end of the session.
BEECH
Beech class carried on the Mother’s Day fun by having their own Garage Sale. A group scoured the forest for the coolest; stones, sticks and random (but cute) objects to display on stumps. Customers could then come a spend their hard earned leaves, to get whatever they wanted. The digging zone became quicksand, so a team got as many sticks to build a safe bridge to climb over without getting sucked into the ground. The worm collection from the previous session was found and a HUGE pack of collectors worked to fill the worm bucket even more.
MAPLE
Barrels of laughs were had in Maple class, as those using the Forest loose parts made a very cool den using 3 big barrels, they put a tarp over the top and sat inside giggling for a lot of the session. Another group were using the tubes to create a band with one very repetitive, not overly tuneful song about chicken nuggets… Another group made a new shop called ‘the Coop’ which had absolutely nothing to do with the Co-Op. They made it very clear and said that the Co-Op were not allowed to sue them. A potion was made that could grant wishes too!
