LIME
The Year 6’s were deep in the middle of a reasoning paper, so the Lime class children were given the very tricky task of having a ‘semi-quiet’ forest! They steered clear of the edge of the forest next to Willow Class and did a tremendous job not being too noisy. They still managed to…revive the band from last week with a band practice, find some pottery in the digging zone, make the coolest shelter in the loose parts zone, make a cooling system for the shelter, find a beetle who had a rock girlfriend and finally, swing in the hammock!
EYFS
The little ones were tasked with making homes for animals. They were mostly making stick bird nests and had a great time dragging big logs into piles. Some children made piles of smaller sticks and leaves, so that birds could swoop down and take anything they wanted. A boggle egg was being very well looked after by a group in the hopes that it would hatch. For a while they thought they’d lost it but it was actually just in someone’s pocket! They also found a football behind a fence and wondered how it got there and there was a funny discussion about what an Alpaca was!
BEECH
While sitting on the stumps, someone was looking at the birdhouse and they saw a bird fly out! It wasn’t long until someone else had seen the bird too and then a whole host of twitchers were camped out to get a good view. They weren’t sure if they were blue tits or coal tits, but they were taking some great pictures with the stick cameras and a self professed bird expert tried to call the birds out to play! Elsewhere, the digging zone was VERY muddy again as the team dug the trench. While ‘The Cute Cafe’ opened up and provided people with expensive hot chocolate’s and biscuits!
MAPLE
Some of Maple class were equally excited to find out that one of the bird houses was full and they pressed their ear as close to the house as possible to hear the tiny baby chirps. Other than that, a team worked tirelessly to undo all of Beech class’ work in the digging zone. They dug up dry mud and filled in the hole until it was more of a bog than a soup. There were also a group of cavemen travelling around the forest, they had a rival tribe called the Otis tribe and luckily war never actually broke out. A group also made a great shelter in the loose parts zone.
WILLOW
WELCOME TO THE FIRST EVER ‘POST SATS HIDE AND SEEK CHAMPIONSHIP 2026’! Tensions were high…the rules were in place… 3, 2, 1, hide! In round 1, you were allowed to hide anywhere on the playground, field or forest (as long as you didn’t go into the shed or polycrub!). The eventual winners were hidden in a bush behind the bus and were covered in spiders! Round 2 was Sardines. The winning duo from round 1 hid behind the shed and slowly the frantically searching children dwindled, until a small group realised they were the only ones left! They had the most fun and were definitely pleased to see the end of SATs!
