The final week in Maple Class was packed with exciting events and memorable experiences. The school was honoured to welcome Josh Dean, Labour MP for Hertford and Stortford, and Chris Hinchliff, Labour MP for North East Hertfordshire. During their visit, the MPs answered the children’s thoughtful questions in a lively and engaging session—complete with enthusiastic “bobbing” to signal questions. Following this, the Green Team representatives of our school presented to the class all that they do in our school about climate change, such as litter-picking, recycling and using the allotment to grow fruits and vegetables. This was especially relevant, as both MPs share a strong commitment to environmental issues and supporting the local community.
The week also featured a fun and challenging Humanities quiz, where Maple class pupils tested their knowledge of history and geography. They were also treated to a special performance by Image Theatre, which brought storytelling to life in a fun and interactive way.
Another highlight was the trip to the STEM Discovery Centre, where pupils took part in a range of space-themed activities. They attended the science show “Stories in Our Stars”, which brought astronomy to life through dynamic demonstrations. In the ‘Create and Take’ workshop, they crafted their own Solar System Rememberalls, combining creativity with scientific learning. Pupils also explored the Exploration Zone, engaging with interactive exhibits and visited the Inspiration Zone, where they enjoyed an Exo-Mars Talk and had the incredible opportunity to view a real Mars Rover, learning about its design and mission.
Maple Class also took part in a colourful Sports Day, bursting with energy and enthusiasm as pupils competed in a variety of activities and cheered each other on. The celebrations concluded with a fantastic end-of-year party, filled with games, laughter and lasting memories—marking a joyful end to a remarkable year.
The Maple Class team would like to say a big thank you to all our wonderful parents and carers for your ongoing support this year. We’ve really appreciated your kind words, lovely gifts and all the encouragement along the way. It’s been a fantastic year and your support has made a real difference!
