And then came the rain…

LIME

Talk of playing Traitors in the forest had spread to Lime class and they begged Claudia to play with them. They sat around the stumps nervously to pick some traitors and the game was on! They were very successful and managed to find two of the traitors (there was a lot of peeking and traitors telling others that they weren’t faithful) and the third traitor decided not to play after the first round… Elsewhere it was Drummer day this week, so some very loud drumming was heard on stumps and pots and a pizza was made too.

WILLOW

Season 2 of Traitors with Willow was another smash hit. This time they’d added in new rules and extra pizzazz by asking the traitors to discuss behind the shed and it worked very well (apart from when the traitors picked someone who wasn’t playing!). The whole of the game was underscored loudly by some tension building musical composers crashing pots and pans. Elsewhere, some leaves were swept and a performance space was made for people to show off their best moves, including a headstand and some great gymnastics.

EYFS

RRRAAAAAIIIIIINNN! A feeble shelter was built in an attempt to keep everyone dry, as the rain just kept on coming! The little ones had a couple of challenges, and played a game of ‘Go Fetch’. They hunted down green things, small things and smooth things, bringing them back to the shelter to show off. They were also tasked with making their own restaurants under the shelter and did a great job making a salad and some soup. Some of them absolutely loved letting the rain collect on their hoods and others enjoyed staying dry under the tarp.

BEECH

Beach class are fearless. They absolutely loved getting out in the rain and making a mess! Some of them stayed put under the tarp waiting for the water to collect on the top and then jumping to try and get a huge stream of water to; fill buckets, clean hands and splash against their hoods! A group started trying to make their own river by clearing leaves to make a path. They wanted their river to end up making a pond and thought they might get some fish to live there. The session finished by one child being carried back to class as their welly was stuck in the mud!

MAPLE

Surprisingly, the pond that Beech class tried to make…actually worked (minus the fish)! Maple class made a beeline for it and began splashing and singing a Peppa Pig song about splashing in muddy puddles. Some went under the tarp for a break from the rain, others went by the tree where the king was sitting waiting to be praised! Others carefully stood in a different lake that was forming and tried to clean their boots, they had to fight the urge to jump as the waterproofs definitely would not have been able to keep the rain out!
