LIME
The young explorers set straight to work in the beautiful sun and a group began building on the den made by Maple class on Friday. They got some tarp and added it to the bamboo poles to make it habitable. A fish and chip shop was founded at the base of a tree and they used various petals and sticks for ingredients with great success! Another shop collected mud and dirt to make some wonderful dishes including a very well-presented salad/hot chocolate combo! Some brave boundary-pushing tree climbing took place too!
EYFS
The forest was full of incredible jungle creatures this morning! To stay nice and cool, they played an animal game in the shade, where the children had to move around like elephants, lions, giraffes and more. They practiced freezing when the music stopped and if there were any wobbles they had to do challenges. A large group then decided to make an incredible den using bamboo, rope and a tarp left up from the older children. Some great sharing in the hammock took place, as well as some fun games of hide and seek.
BEECH
Beech class were full of fantastic discoveries in the forest. They found cool stones and bugs that they shared with their friends. One team decided to go camping and sat with a bucket full of water and watched while it cooked over their stick fire. A fantastic den was built using bamboo and they worked together very well carrying sticks and organising everything. They were incredibly proud of their hard work! A group upgraded the rope swing and added a tarp to make it more comfortable, they then realised it make it easier for someone to push too.
MAPLE
Dreams truly do come true in the forest for Maple class! As the temperature soared over lunchtime it was too hot to cover up arms and legs, so a deal was made. The children could wear short sleeves as long as they stayed in the shade and promised not to fall over and hurt themselves! They were over the moon and it was almost as if Christmas had come half a year early! When in the forest, they climbed, swung a whole lot, sold sunflower seeds, walked imaginary wooden dogs and rebuilt their incredible fences from last week.
