Festive fun!

What a magical week we’ve had in EYFS as we continue celebrating this festive season! The children have been full of excitement and creativity throughout our busy week of activities.

We are incredibly proud of the children following their wonderful performance in our Christmas Concert. They sang beautifully, remembered their actions, and truly shone on stage. They did really well with their oracy skills, to project their voices all the way to the back of the hall! Thank you all to everyone who was able to make it to the show. We will add a video of our performance to Tapestry for those who were unable to attend. The children also performed a surprise song for the lovely Mrs Webb, who will be starting her new adventures in January.

The children also had the chance to meet their new teacher, Mrs Linden McCarren, who will be joining our Early Years team in the new year. She is incredibly excited to work with the children and can’t wait to get started.

In literacy, the children have been busy writing their Christmas cards, practising their letter formation, blending, and taking great care with their mark making. It has been lovely to see how proud they are of their finished cards; we can’t wait to give them to our families!

Our cheeky classroom elf has continued to pop up in new places around the room each day! The children have enjoyed using positional language such as under, behind, next to and on top of to describe where he has been hiding. Lots of excitement, and lots of brilliant, mathematical vocabulary!

Another highlight of our week was our trip to the pantomime to see Snow White. The children were absolute superstars! They sat beautifully, joined in with the fun, and represented our school so well. We were extremely proud of each and every one of them.
