Forest Party!

LIME

Lots of small groups of children seemed to be playing lots of different games today. There were a couple of groups that were playing Harry Potter, meaning that brooms were being flown and a whole host of spells were cast. Another group were taking part in WWII and they were keeping a close eye on any bad guys making their way through the forest. I’m a celeb was back with plenty of challenges involving bugs and putting a flower pot on your head! One person started a business swapping conkers for sticks and then swapping them back again.

WILLOW

It might be a good idea to talk about Willow students, sharing the hammock nicely, or using the swing, or shifting logs around perfectly but the only thing it really makes sense to write about is…TRICK SHOT DAY! (which is this week according to nationaltoday.com) It started with an upturned traffic cone and a dream and ended with over half the class (and teachers) ‘ooohing’ and ‘aaahing’ desperately willing tennis balls to fly in. There were many times it bounced off the edge of the cone but no one managed it. So they vowed to be back next week and succeed!

EYFS

Everything was frozen and it was a little bit of a shock for the little ones. That was until a strange sound could be heard…it got louder…and louder until they realised that there was a speaker playing the best tunes an Ash/Saplings child could dream of! They danced and stamped their feet to keep warm and even played a game of musical statues. After a while lots of them went to get busy in the forest but quite a few stayed and boogied for the whole session. Mrs Lammin even led a conga around the forest!

BEECH

The sun had tried its hardest to warm the forest up and it had succeeded…but it had also made the floor quite a muddy, sloppy mess, so the tree and digging zone were out of bounds. But that didn’t bother Beech class too much, they enjoyed the forest disco and requested a heap of K-Pop Demon Hunters songs but most of them were busy getting stuck in. Some mud clay was made, a team dug for fossils and vowed to search the digging zone for some next week and the swing was incredibly busy too. Be careful in the forest though, as one team made a trap!

MAPLE

If Willow class had really got into the trick shot competition on Wednesday, then Maple class were down right obsessed! They queued and queued and threw and threw and tried and tried for basically the whole session. They decided to go up in levels and began closer to the target and slowly moved further away. Another trick shot group involved more of a golfing technique and another group used conkers and flower pots and you could win a prize! The rope swing was as busy as ever too and the Amanda Whipp was in full flow. (see last weeks blog if you don’t know what that is!)
