It’s a Bug’s Life

LIME

The weather was incredible on Wednesday morning and Lime Class were excited to spring straight into action! A Chocolate shop was invented, as they were celebrating chocolate week. They made all sorts of gloopy mud treats for anyone who would pay the grand sum of one leaf. Over in the Loose Parts section of the forest, someone was cleverly using a hoover handle as a petrol gun and fuelling up anyone in need. They charged a very fair rate of £50 a litre…! The digging zone was being filled with water and sloshed around by a very eager crew!

WILLOW

Willow class enjoyed the idea that it was chocolate week and made a chocolate restaurant for Panda’s, in the Loose Parts zone. They used barrel lids as huge plates and found leaf napkins, along with perfect stick cutlery and served some gloopy chocolate mix onto a massive cupboard door table. A band played music through the tubes but it was mainly a loud wailing sound, that didn’t pair well with the food… Elsewhere, someone was pretending to be a ‘Frost Pigeon’ and a bunch of people were training it but after a while it got bored and wanted to climb a tree!

EYFS

BUGS! Mrs Lammin was very kind and let the children borrow her big tub of insects. The children were very excited but when they got to the forest…THE BUGS HAD ESCAPED! After a brief bout of screaming and some promises not to tell Mrs Lammin what had happened the children were set loose to try and find as many bugs as they could. They had great fun comparing them and counting to see how many they’d found. They managed to find them all and were very proud of their team work.

BEECH

The bugs were at it again with Beech class and the forest was scattered with searching children once more. They helped those that hadn’t found any yet to search and then enjoyed figuring out what each of the toys were. By the end of the session, there was just one green bug not accounted for! Elsewhere, a couple of cafe’s popped up. One made the biggest hot chocolate you’d ever seen and the other had a very gloopy chocolate mixture. A very cool mud sculpture was made too along with a base including real log fire.

MAPLE

Half of Maple class were at cross country, so the forest felt very spacious! The remaining team definitely made the most of their time and the Loose Parts were especially utilised by a crew making a den. They put the 4 barrels into the centre with a green tarp on top, while a guard stood with a hoover attachment warning whenever anyone approached! A KFC opened (complete with sign) and the chef made the most of the empty forest and used ALL of the buckets for those 11 secret herbs and spices. The Colonel would be proud…
