Monsters and Mazes

Summary

Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the day even more special.

Beech Class had an extraordinary adventure this week with our visit to the historic Knebworth House. We are so proud of all the children for being polite and well-behaved throughout the entire trip. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made the day even more special.

Our first stop was the adventure playground, a paradise for energetic explorers! The children were thrilled to discover a huge fort with a playground inside. There were big slides that the children enjoyed. The outdoor play park area was a hit, featuring a water zone perfect for cooling off on what turned out to be a sunny day. The various climbing areas challenged the children to test their skills, and they showed impressive teamwork and encouragement for one another.

After our energetic playtime, we were welcomed by Michael, our guide, who took us on a fascinating tour of the grounds of Knebworth House. This grand Tudor house, still in the same family for generations, was a treasure trove of history and stories. Michael explained how the garden’s symmetry was a key feature of its design, and we got to apply our maths skills by counting the rows of trees in twos.

The exploration didn’t stop there. We ventured through a captivating maze, which was an exciting challenge for everyone. Navigating through the twists and turns, we finally emerged to find ourselves face-to-face with a lion! We then moved on to the dinosaur area. These incredibly realistic models sparked the children’s imaginations, making them feel as if they had stepped back in time.

This memorable trip wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our wonderful parent helpers and Mr Hutt and Mrs Davies, who ensured everything ran smoothly. A special mention goes to Ms Bland, who drove the minibus, making our journey comfortable and safe. Their dedication and assistance were invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for their contributions.

Our trip to Knebworth House was filled with learning, adventure, and fun. The children of Beech Class demonstrated excellent behaviour and a keen interest in everything they saw and did. It was a day that will be remembered fondly, full of laughter, discovery, and excitement. We can’t wait for our next adventure together!
