LIME
The forest was slightly better than the bog it was on Friday! The Little Hadham children actually made it in today and they made the most of it. Of course CHEESE was once again the word on everyone’s lips. A few teams began chipping away at the soggy wood and logs, to create the hottest commodity in town. They then ferried it around the forest in buckets to whoever needed ingredients. It is also ‘Girl Scout Cookie Day’ this week, so some great cookies were made too. Some old people also toddled around the forest with their walking sticks!
WILLOW
Willow class were hammering away at the logs too and decided that a great battle was to take place between two tribes of magicians. One clan were the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo and the others didn’t seem to have a name but were very protective over their land. Spells were cast across the forest and the greatest battle of all involved lots of rhyming spells such as…’Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, I’ll turn you into a shoe’, ‘Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo you look Smurf blue’ which was very funny. Another team worked very hard to tie ropes to a pallet and then hang it up.
EYFS
Let’s make a pancake! After singing a wonderful song about how to make pancakes, the youngest members of the school were very keen to put their knowledge into action and make some mud pancakes. They found as many pans as they could and worked to fill them with the ingredients. Some of the mixtures were very watery, so they (very wisely) decided it probably was best to not flip them. Those not pancaking were having a lot of fun on their pirate ship. They found some treasure using fishing rods and generally said ‘arrr’!
BEECH
Beech class were also very excited to get mixing and used leaves and sticks as ingredients and toppings on their pancakes. A big group decided that they needed to make a booby trap in the forest, so began collecting lots of sticks and resting them up against some pallets. It was unclear how the trap worked but they were very happy with it by the end of the session. Another team were inspecting the stumps and had filled a huge bucket with heaps of worms and slugs. Finally, a conker was buried in the hopes that a new tree will grow!
MAPLE
There was a lot going on to finish the week! If you could hear a very loud noise at about 2pm, it was a group of jokers. They would tell (awful) jokes but regardless of how nonsensical the punchline was, they would all go ‘oooooohhhhh’, as if it was the best thing that anyone had ever said! Another group were making some beautiful pancakes with some very sloppy mixture and heaps of toppings, while the neighbouring group were building their own fort, using a tree that has been too slippery to climb recently. The hammock was also a safe haven from the mud!
