Year 6 Take to the Ice at Alexandra Palace!

What better way to finish our first term in Year 6 than with a super day at Alexandra Palace ice skating. From the moment we arrived, there was a buzz of excitement in the air – and it didn’t disappear for a second. We threw ourselves into the experience with huge smiles, lots of laughter and an attitude to be incredibly proud of.

Teamwork and true friendship were on display everywhere you looked. We helped one another fasten skates, steadied wobbly legs on the way to the ice and offered a reassuring hand around the rink. There were a few tumbles (ice skating wouldn’t be ice skating without them!) but every single fall was followed by determination, perseverance and a brave effort to get straight back up again. The resilience on show was wonderful to see.

Once on the ice, we didn’t just skate – we danced! Gliding and spinning around the huge Christmas tree in the centre of the rink felt magical, especially with music playing and festive lights sparkling all around us. And yes, we even had a few flakes of snow too! Alexandra Palace was a fantastic venue and the perfect place to share such a joyful experience together. To top it all off, we warmed up afterwards with a well-deserved hot chocolate – a tasty treat that was thoroughly enjoyed and the perfect way to refuel after all that skating!

There may be a few sore or achy muscles tomorrow, but what we’ve gained is far more important – special memories that will last a very long time. What a fabulous activity and a truly brilliant way to end our first term in Year 6.
